Fantasy Golf Tournament Preview- Genesis Open
OVERVIEW
This week we stay in California for the last of the West Coast swing and head to Pacific Palisades and Riviera Country Club. The course features fairways & greens that are tough to hit and making sure you’re accurate with your long irons will be a key. Of course, with the greens being tough to hit, scrambling should be a key statistic to target this week as well as the usual SG: APP (or SG: Ball Striking), Par 4 Scoring and birdies or better. Even though the fairways are hard to hit, the rough is a non-issue to get out of, so targeting players who gain strokes off the tee is the preferred method this week (See former winners: DJ, Bubba x2). This is probably the first true “tough course” that the players have seen yet this season, so you should expect to see some higher scores (relative to par) and lower scores at the top of the DK leaderboard. One last thing about the fairways, they’re kikuya grass, which is the native grass in South Africa, I’d imagine the South Africans get a bit of a bump this week, as well as any Euros that don’t play over here too often.
