Fantasy Golf Tournament Preview- Made in Denmark (European Tour Package)

OVERVIEW

The first item of note for this week’s event is like the PGA Championship, this event was typically played in August and has now been changed to May. Playing courses at different times of the year can have an effect on amateurs, but I doubt it impacts the pros as much as you’d like to think. Sure, the ball may bounce differently if it’s not dried out because of more precipitation in the spring, but the pros have accounted for this. The second item of note is that the event is back to being held at Himmerland, where it was hosted prior to last year’s edition at Silkeborg. The course can play up to 7,400 yards, but my guess is they’ll set it up similarly to how it was in 2017 at just over 6,800 as they’re trying to lure more pros to play in this event following a major, not make them play in as tough as conditions as they just did for half the winnings. Outside of the yardage, the course plays fairly straight forward with water coming into play on five holes. The main defense as with any links course will be the wind and as of writing we can expect a decent dose of breeze, but if scoring in the past is any indication, these guys won’t have any issues scoring.
