Fantasy Golf Tournament Preview- BMW PGA Championship (Euro Tour-Pro Pack Members)

OVERVIEW

Another Rolex series event comes this week, which means yet another strong field event on the European Tour. This event was only pushed back about a month, so I don’t think there should be much concern in how the course plays year over year. After two weeks of basically no course history, we get a course most of the field is familiar with and a course we have plenty of data on. That being said, this week presents another opportunity to target the best ball strikers in the field and hope for a good putting week from them, like usual. Wentworth is a challenging tree-lined course with undulating terrain. The fairways are tight and require players to hit the ball from right to left AND left to right off the tee. Greens in regulation is a primary stat to target this week, so we’ll want to make sure our player pool primarily consists of strong iron players. The winds are tough to judge here (similar to Augusta for some) as they swirl, and the trees don’t do much to block it. Players who don’t hit the green in regulation will need to scramble well as there are plenty of bunkers and shaved surrounds to give them fits.
