OVERVIEW
From my favorite non-major event of the year to yet another three-course rotation that I can’t stand watching. The Pebble Beach Pro Am is upon us this week and I think the format needs to be changed (obviously my opinion matters very little here). I’m tired of seeing celebrities play golf and I’m tired of not seeing golf on the one channel that prides themselves on being THE GOLF CHANNEL. That’s my rant, I’m sure many of you have the same gripes that I do and of course TGC isn’t going to change. As I mentioned, this week we have a three-course rotation with Spyglass and Monterey being the two easier courses, but Pebble getting two rounds of play as the host course. If you’re looking for corollary courses, I think we can look at Torrey and Firestone as the comparable as we’ve seen success at all three events overlap over the past few years. Remember, Pebble won’t play the way it does this week when it hosts the US Open, but you can certainly take notes this week to help your process/research come June. As for One & Done’s, last week I ended up with Rickie (and a winning 20/1 ticket), but I’m still trailing in both of my leagues. This week I’m looking at Day, Finau, Kuchar or Reavie. I’ve already used DJ so if you haven’t used him yet this would be a good week coming off his win in Saudi Arabia. Tommy Fleetwood is also in play this week, but I’m saving him for Mexico or the US Open (I’m waiting to see how he plays this course for two rounds before committing to him for four).
