Fantasy Golf Tournament Preview- Arnold Palmer Invitational
OVERVIEW
Even though Arnie isn’t here to give his ceremonial handshake to the winner, I think he’ll be smiling down on the golfers this week. A lot of golf and golf media have been taking shots at those that aren’t playing this week and for good reason. Arnie was more than just a golfer, he was a celebrity who played golf. He was the first to bring the masses to the golf course, he was the first who had a following – Arnie’s Army. Anyone who’s seen him swing can spot it from a mile away, its extremely distinguishable from start to finish. He was charismatic on (and off) the course, his business ventures & golf course design team has done tremendous things for the golf industry; and how could I not mention Arnold Palmer sweet tea? He made drinking lemonade and sweet tea cool for cripes sake! Every single healthy player that isn’t having a baby or getting married should be in the field this week to honor him and his legacy the year after he passed. I’m sure they all wanted to be there, but I think more of them should’ve made an effort to actually be there this week to compete. I get that its getting down to crunch time, but most of them didn’t play last week. Play this week, the match play, take off the week of the Shell to get ready for the Masters, play the masters and take off the RBC Heritage (nobody plays there anyways)! It’s not difficult at all, but whatever. This just shows how self-centered/egotistical *some professional golfers can be. Hope you enjoyed my rant, on to the picks
