Fantasy Golf Tournament Preview Alfred Dunhill Championship (European Tour Package)
OVERVIEW
I hope you all read between the lines last week and played as much Louis as possible after that thrilling six shot victory. This week we stay in South Africa and head to the recently renovated Leopard Creek course for the final European Tour event of 2018. The course underwent a major renovation last year, which is why the tournament was removed from the rotation. Outside of the grass changes on the greens, I don’t think much of the renovation should change much in what we look for this week. They’ve increased the number of bunkers protecting greens and added a new Par 3 (12th hole), but outside of that we’re just seeing the change from kikuya to Bentgrass on the greens and kikuya to bermuda on the fairways. Sure, the ball will sit down a bit more on the fairways, but these are still the best in the world at golf, so I don’t expect the players having much trouble with their approach shots. The biggest takeaway from this event is how often Charl Schwartzel has won the event four times, most recently in 2015 and all winners since 2010 have been South African as well as Pablo Martin from Spain winning the event in back to back years (2009 & 2010).
