Fantasy Golf Tournament Preview – Acciona Open d’Espana (Euro Tour- Pro Pack Members)
Welcome to the Week 41 of the Golf Calendar Year!
Congrats to Danny Willett on getting the job done at the Alfred Dunhill Links! I cannot say I was on him at all. From a betting perspective, the 100/1 made sense to chase, but I do not think you could have paid me enough to have him in my DK pool. I believe the most amazing stat I heard on him last week was that it was the first round he had shot 67 or below since March at the Corales on the PGA Tour and he snagged two of them in the same week. The form was not much to look at either. It was not in the cards, but we did find fair value with other picks a little further down the board, so hopefully you were able to make a little bit of money. This does bring up an interesting point through. Someone asked me directly in the Slack Chat (which you should be involved with for the PGA side without question) what my opinion was of Willett’s chances. I thought there were slim to none, but it turned out that I could not have been more wrong. Just remember if you have a strong enough lean on a guy, you should absolutely play him because on Any Given Sunday…
Equal Kudos, to Pre-Tourney Favorite, Sam Burns in getting the job done in Jackson at the Sanderson! With the win, he now breaks into the Top 20 of the OGWR Rankings. That is now 2 Wins and 2 2nd place finishes in his last 13 starts on tour.
One of my favorite PGA tourneys of the year is the Shriners. It is a high scoring affair with a deep field loaded with names and players with favorable course history. I encourage you to dive into the pod with Jeff and Zach to see how they have they have foreshadowed the week. I cannot wait to dive in later today myself.
We are looking at the month of October in Spain for 3 straight events, before a quick stop in Portugal, and the season ending World Tour Championship in Dubai.
Up first – this week’s Acciona Open d’Espana!
