European Tour GPP Strategy & Targets- MaybankChampionship

A big time smash for the European core last week as anyone who played it had a legit shot of taking down GPPs.  Personally, I cashed every team I had in the $27 Dogleg, including a team taking 6th and a team taking 2nd, for a combined $1,250.  I also had a nice cluster of cashing teams in the $4 Fore where I had 20 teams and 10 finished in the top 500.  I have heard from many of you who had really nice weeks, so let’s keep building. Of the 13 player core last week only two guys missed the cut (Fitzpatrick and Westwood).   Obviously having Rory was very important as he finished runner-up and in my opinion really squandered a winnable tournament for him.  Not having the winner is usually death in GPPs, but Li was owned by under 5% of teams, so it was not critical to own him.  I had a ton of Rory and Hatton stacks, which was huge.  Other great producers included Cabrera Bello (T6), Paisley (5th), Fritelli (T6), Poulter (T6), Fleetwood (T6), Kaymer (T19), and Detry (T22).  It was a very enjoyable tournament to follow and watch and wish the PGA would take notes on how to cover golf from the European Tour.
