Fantasy Golf Insider Beat the Experts FanDuel Contest

Before I breakdown the Masters and the 87-man field that will tee it up in Augusta, Georgia, be sure to click on the “Fantasy Golf Insider Beat the Experts FanDuel Contest” link above and get an entry into this exclusive FGI contest over on FanDuel.  There will be 200 total entries this week for the Masters so be sure to get yours in right away as it will surely fill.  This is a great contest to gauge your PGA DFS skills competing against the team here at FGI without putting too much at risk with your bankroll.  Furthermore, FanDuel has been running decent contest sizes and hopefully they will continue to grow with more interest because loyal readers of this column know that I have a pretty decent track record of identifying quality player pools that gives Team FGI a significant advantage over the competition.  This week should be no different for the Masters.

The first major of the season if finally here and the world of golf could not be in a better place than what it is right now.  Not only is Tiger Woods back and playing well, but so are many other PGA TOUR veterans who just might be playing some of their best golf of their illustrious careers right now.  The young generation of talented golfers are also dominating the leaderboards and are showing no signs of letting down.  That is where it has been quite difficult ruling anyone out at the top of market for the 82nd edition of the Masters Tournament, one that will probably go down as one for the ages.

Augusta National Golf Club is a stock par 72 course that measures 7,435 yards in length.  Distance off of the tee is not a requirement to contend here but it definitely helps, especially on the par 5s where scoring is essential.  Approach shots are probably more paramount than anything because landing the ball close to the pin will greatly improve your chances on the fast and winding bentgrass greens.  History also shows that you do not need to be a great putter to win here, just need to have a good putting week.

The FGI PGA Interactive Model is going to assist us with our lineup building process because it identifies the best golfers with solid Current Form and whose Key Stats set up nicely for Augusta National Golf Club.  It also allows us to factor in Course History as well as an emphasis on Vegas (odds to win).  Below are the FGI PGA Interactive Model Overall weights I will be using this week along with the Key Stats weights for the Masters provided by our friends at Fantasy Golf Metrics:

FGI PGA Interactive Model Overall weights:

                Current Form: 30%

                Key Stats: 30%

                Vegas: 10%

                Course History: 30%

FGI PGA Interactive Model Key Stats weights:

                SGT2G: 25%

                SGP: 25%

                DD: 5%

                PROX: 15%

                SPROX: 10%

                PAR5: 5%

                BOB%: 15%
