Jeff’s Hardcore Core- The Honda Classic
Yet another year where the Honda Classic gets one of the worst spots on the PGA Tour calendar. Coming off the west coast swing where all the worlds’ best played last week and most the week before, not many of them are in a hurry to get to Florida and play this week. Thus, the strength of the field is very weak. The Honda Classic returns to the lead in event for the Florida swing where it usually is. Last year if you remember, it actually closed out the Florida swing before they headed to Texas and then Augusta. Last year we had some good information as to who was playing well on Florida courses and of course bermuda grass as it followed Concession, Bay Hill, and TPC Sawgrass. This year we are coming off of west coast golf and poa grass, so that will add some uncertainty. Regardless, PGA National is a very difficult course with tons of trouble, where double bogey or worse is in play on many holes.
Best of luck this week Team FGI!
