Jeff’s Hardcore Core- Arnold Palmer Invitational

The Florida golf swing continues with the Arnold Palmer this week then one of my favorite events the entire year,  The Players next week.  This week we have an absolutely loaded field, as opposed to last week’s less than exciting offering.  I will dive into my strategy for the week in GPPs, but let’s recap the Honda first.

What went right?  My late pivot to Rickie Fowler that I talked about in my update on Wednesday night proved to be a good one.  I was surprised how little people like him last week, which indicated that his ownership would be in the low double digits.  I shifted some of my Thomas shares to him, but unfortunately I did not switch all of them as Thomas was brutal.  A couple other highlights from my core were Lucas Glover who continues to play well as he had a chance to win late and finished T4.  Jason Kokrak also turned in another great performance with a T9.  Probably the best play in my core was Wyndham Clark who was only owned by 2-3% throughout GPPs and gave us a T7 finish!

What went wrong?  I already talked about JT’s bad week, but he was not the only one.  Gary Woodland and Webb Simpson, who I was very high on, both made the cut, but badly underperformed their $9k price tags with T36 finishes.  Cam Smith looked good on Thursday, but absolutely fell through the floor on Friday and missed the cut.  Emiliano Grillo also hurt a lot of my rosters as he had a rare missed cut.  Not a very good week at all for my core and an event that I don’t really like all that much.  I am glad we move into some much better fields now for DFS and a bunch of nice contests available on Draftkings.

Let’s see a ton of FGI logos atop leaderboards this week!
