Fantasy Golf Tournament Preview- Omega Dubai Classic (Euro Tour Package)
OVERVIEW
Last week the PGA Tour held the Desert Classic in California and this week we get Dubai’s version of the same tournament name, albeit this course is way cooler than the one in California. The highlight of this event is the fact that two of the last three winners of this event have gone on to win the green jacket in April (Sergio, Willett). Haotong had a decent showing at last year’s Masters, and runner-up Rory finished in the Top 5. While I don’t think there’s more to the correlation other than sheer coincidence (according to Ernie Els, both courses fit the eye of someone who draws the ball – Right to left), both courses demand strong ball striking and finesse on and around the greens. That being said, if Tommy or Bryson win this week you can surely expect the talking heads of golf betting twitter to tell you to pound their outrights for The Masters (if you haven’t already). Multiple time winners is a thing at this course as Tiger, Ernie, and Stephen Gallacher have all won this event more than once, giving merit to looking at Li, Sergio, Rafa, and Stenson (Willett isn’t in the field), but you can’t jam all four in the same lineup so don’t bother trying. I wouldn’t hate having a core of only three players this week and running out multiples of two of the former winners, sprinkling in some of the players listed below at a lower exposure than 30-40%.
