It is not too often but sometimes the European Tour has an event where a much better field comes together than the one in the PGA TOUR.  One could easily make that case this week for the Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship.  Headlined by Dustin Johnson, Rory McIlroy and Justin Rose, the Abu Dhabi GC is setup for some spectacular golf over the days ahead.  It is a course that typically allows plenty of birdies and with great weather shaping up once again, I do not see how it will be any different this year.  A solid tee-to-green is necessary to contend here as Tommy Fleetwood showed last year.  His stunning win would ultimately catapult him to his most successful season of his career.  Now he is back with more confident than ever and ready to defend his Abu Dhabi title.

The Abu Dhabi GC is a par 72 course that measures 7,600 yards in length and will provide ample scoring opportunities for the golfers who are able to keep their ball in play.  The rough here has been over grown the last few years so it will take accuracy and length off of the tee to remain in the mix throughout the four rounds.  Therefore Driving Distance, Driving Accuracy and Greens in Regulation are the primary Key Stats this week.  This is also the type of course where all it takes is for someone to get hot with their putter for them to not look back.
