Euro Targets- Turkish Airlines (European Tour Package)

The Final Series in the Race to Dubai is upon us! Quite disappointing that a few big names (Rory, Reed, Stenson) have WD due to security concerns in Turkey. They will be back next week in the European field. We still get a fairly deep field in a no-cut event this week.

If you’re a new member or have been subscribing for some time to the Euro DFS content, a combination of the weekly model along with some of the key plays and fades that I like here each week have turned out some great results over the last few months. Keep in mind, in no-cut events we need to be a bit more aggressive in roster construction. Looking for guys that make birdies and can score low over four rounds. This is a great spot to utilize our “dollar per fantasy point” average calculation in the model.

Here’s who I like (and dislike) in the first leg this week:

Top of the Charts:

Andrew Johnston: “Beef” has stormed onto the golf scene in 2016 and I don’t see his European field success slowing down. A great GPP play in a no-cut format, he has the upside to score birdies in bunches and bounce back from a bad round if he doesn’t get off to a hot start.

Scott Hend: Scott Hend is another of those who can go low and score plenty of fantasy points as he showed in Malaysia two weeks ago, finishing T7 and finishing as one of the highest DraftKings scorers. Lock and load him for another limited field event at a great price.

Others I’m behind:

Richard Bland: Bland was pushed down in the model this week due to his price, but he represents an opportunity for a lot of potential scoring value. Couple that with a handful of top-ten finishes over the last few months, he should be on your radar this week.

Robert Rock: There’s a lot of volatility in this field, as usual with most European Tour fields each week. Rock isn’t any different. At his mid-tier salary, he’s a boom or bust, GPP only play after a mix of top-tens and bottom half weekend finishes over his last dozen starts.

  • Lucas Bjerregaard
  • Jorge Campiloo
  • Gregory Bourdy
  • Nino Bertasio

 Fades?

Andy Sullivan: After two straight made cuts, has he turned a corner back to the young talent we knew from last year? Perhaps he has. He’s just too expensive for my style of roster construction this week along with his big bust potential.

Danny Willett: He’s been nothing short of disappointing for this most of the 2016 season. Outside of a disappointing two finishes (2 & T12) at the Italian Open and European Masters, he has not finished better than 37th in eight other starts since the US Open. Avoiding at all costs.

Marcel Siem: He comes in highly due to a short field and his relative price being depressed this week. He still doesn’t make enough birdies and has tendency to make bogeys in run, making his fantasy point upside unattractive.

Others I’ll be avoiding:

  • Nacho Elvira
  • Thongchai Jaidee
  • Robert Karlsson

Best of luck this week! Let’s keep the fire going….
